Tasting- Accordini Valpolicella Ripasso

Name: Accordini Valpolicella Ripasso
Variety: 60% Corvina, 20% Rondinella and 20% Corvinoni
Region: Veneto
Country: Italy
Year: 2008
Price: $17

Winery review: Opaque ruby. The Ripasso is youthful in appearance and taste with notes of red cherry, black pepper, and creamy milk chocolate. It's big, full-fruited, exotically flavored and delicious with mouth coating density. A classic vintage.

My review: This wine was not something I enjoyed tasting. The nose had hints of pepper and cherry, a strange combination. The mid pallet was very present with a high tannin content. The finish was just as peppery as the nose. I just don't enjoy the pepper finishes.

I tried this wine without food.
